Ultrasound examination of the mammary glands is recommended annually for women aged 35-40 and below. This is because at a young age, the mammary glands have a dense structure, making the examination highly sensitive.

Indications for ultrasound of the mammary glands include:

• Palpable lumps and tenderness in the chest
• Changes in the appearance of the breasts and nipples
• Nipple discharge
• Pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding)
• Chest injury or mastitis
• Hereditary predisposition to malignant and benign breast tumors
• Assessment of implant condition after plastic surgery
• Breast biopsy under ultrasound guidance.
