Patient Guide: Scheduled Medical Visit within the Framework of Universal Health Insurance
To benefit from Universal Health Insurance, it is important to understand how a scheduled medical visit is organized. Below are the main steps.
Step 1: Visit Your Registered Polyclinic
The first step in arranging a scheduled visit is to apply to your registered polyclinic.
If you have a complaint, you should first book an appointment for a consultation with a therapist and visit your primary care physician.
Step 2: Consultation with the Therapist
During the consultation, the therapist assesses the patient’s complaints and overall health condition.
Step 3: Issuance of a Referral
If, based on the therapist’s assessment, the patient’s complaints are justified and further examination or treatment is necessary, the therapist issues a referral.
The therapist prepares the appropriate referral in the ArMed system, which allows the patient to arrange the required examination or specialist consultation.
Where Can the Service Be Received?
With the issued referral, the patient may receive the relevant medical service:
- at their registered polyclinic
- at another medical institution cooperating with the Universal Health Insurance program
Where to Find Additional Information?
Information about the coverage of services provided within the program and the list of cooperating medical institutions is available in the ArMed system:
